ISA grant

This is an invitation to all national associations (in good standing)
to apply for grants to help build websites, or to organize regional
workshops and conferences.
Deadline: March 15, 2009
Application

Dear All,

This is an invitation to all national associations (in good standing) to apply for grants to help build websites, or to organize regional workshops and conferences. We welcome all applications but particularly encourage those that bring together national associations from a given region of the world and around a topic of public concern. We will also give preference to applicants from B and C countries.

Applications (see the attached form) should be emailed to the ISA Secretariat isa@isa-sociology.org and myself burawoy@berkeley.edu.

The deadline for submissions for this years proposals is March 15, 2009 so that they can be evaluated by the meeting of the National Associations Liaison Committee (NALC) at the beginning of April.

The creation of websites and the organization of regional workshops and conferences are among the best ways to foster a community of sociologists across the world, recognizing both what they have in common but also how they differ. It is the endeavor of the ISA to thicken those ties of cooperation and interdependence. The NALC looks forward to receiving your proposals. Best Wishes Michael Burawoy Vice-President for National Associations International Sociological Association
