Általános felhívás tanulmányok és recenziók írására / General call for papers and book reviews

A Szociológiai Szemle szerkesztősége egész évben várja a Magyarországgal és a közép-és kelet-európai társadalmakkal kapcsolatos eredeti kutatásokat, a régiót érintő társadalmi folyamatok tágabb perspektívájú elemzéseit, valamint általánosabb jellegű innovatív elméleti és módszertani munkákat.

A Szociológiai Szemle a Magyar Szociológiai Társaság lektorált, nyílt hozzáférésű folyóirata, amely évente négy számmal, vegyesen magyar és angol nyelvű írásokkal jelenik meg online és nyomtatott formában.

A benyújtani kívánt írásokat a folyóirat OJS oldalán keresztül várjuk.

Tudományos tanulmányok:

Tanulmányként olyan eredeti, nagyjából 40 ezer karakteres főszövegű, szociológiailag releváns írásműveket várunk, melyek más helyen nem jelentek meg és más folyóiratnál nem állnak elbírálás alatt. A beküldött kéziratok bírálatra való kiadásáról vagy elutasításáról a szerkesztőség dönt. Bírálatra való kiadás esetén a kéziratot legalább két bíráló kettős vak szakmai bírálati rendszerben értékeli.

Recenziók:

A recenzió bármely világnyelven elérhető, elsősorban az elmúlt 5 évben megjelent tudományos műről, monográfiáról vagy szerkesztett kötetről szólhat, 12-20 ezer karakteres terjedelemben. A recenzió tartalmazza a könyv bibliográfiai adatait, a könyv témájának leírását, relevanciáját, a tágabb szakirodalomban elfoglalt helyét, valamint a recenzió szerzőjének saját, a könyv témájához kapcsolódó szakmai tapasztalatának bemutatását. A beérkezett írásműveket a folyóirat szerkesztősége bírálja el.

A Szociológiai Szemle szerkesztősége

The Editorial Board of the Hungarian Review of Sociology invites submissions of original social scientific manuscripts and other scholarly contributions relevant to the Hungarian sociological field.

The journal welcomes original empirical research on Hungary and on Central and Eastern European societies, as well as analyses of social processes affecting the region from a broader comparative or theoretical perspective. Submissions offering innovative theoretical or methodological contributions of general relevance are also encouraged.

The Hungarian Review of Sociology is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal of the Hungarian Sociological Association. It is published quarterly, in both print and online formats, with each issue featuring a mix of articles in Hungarian and English.

Manuscripts should be submitted via the journal’s OJS platform.

Original Research Articles

Submitted manuscripts must be original works that have not been published previously and are not under consideration by another journal. The Editorial Team expects submissions with a main text of approximately 40,000 characters (including spaces). All submissions are subject to an initial editorial screening. Manuscripts deemed suitable are sent for double-blind peer review, with evaluations provided by at least two independent reviewers. Based on the reviews, the Editorial Team will decide on acceptance, revision, or rejection.

Book Reviews

The journal also welcomes book reviews of scholarly monographs or edited volumes, preferably published within the last five years, in Hungarian or other languages. Reviews should be 12,000–20,000 characters in length. A review should include:

• full bibliographic details of the publication,
• a concise description of the book’s subject and scope,
• an assessment of its scholarly relevance and contribution,
• its positioning within the broader academic literature,
• and a brief statement of the reviewer’s professional background or expertise related to the topic.

Book reviews are evaluated by the Editorial Team.
